Winter Watering

We have had a record dry winter here in Northern Colorado and plant material can suffer without supplemental watering.  It would be a good idea to get the hose out and run some water to all woody plant material, especially conifers.  Woody plants that have been installed within the last year are most susceptible to damage from a dry winter.  Our Landscape Management department would be happy to help with your winter watering.  Feel free to call us at 970-226-5677 for a quote.

Spring Time

‘The thirsty Earth soaks up the rain,

And drinks and gaps for drink again:

The plants suck in the Earth, and are

With constant drinking fresh and fair.

Winter Landscape Planning

It seems like winter has come early this year. What can a person do when the snow and cold keeps them from enjoying their outdoor spaces? Well, we can certainly start planning for the spring. Winter down time is the ideal time to start planning & designing for your spring and summer projects for next year. Although it may be hard to get in the mindset of springtime, if you wait until Spring rolls around, you may have waited too long.

Fall To Do List

One big snow storm can seemingly switch your landscaping from summer to winter in a hurry, but don’t forget about Fall.  We still have a number of temperate days before winter really settles in, and there’s plenty that can be done in the garden during this time of year.  Fall is a great time to plant trees and shrubs, as the plants are going into dormancy, and their likelihood of transplant shock is diminished.  For the confident green thumb, certain plants can be divided and re-planted at this time.  It is also the time to do your fall clean up.  Rem

Fall is Here

Temperatures are starting to change and winter is around the corner. Sprinkler winterization is critical in Colorado as air temperatures get below freezing. Failing to winterize your sprinkler system properly can result in expensive repairs.  We are currently scheduling sprinkler winterizations for "blow-out" systems and "self draining" systems.

Water Conservation

I’d like to offer a few tips as we enter into summer, in order to maintain your beautiful and water efficient landscape. First, I would recommend evaluating the quantity, and frequency of watering both on your lawn, and your landscape plants. In the early summer, watering requirements aren’t as high as those experienced in the heat of the late summer. You can back down your watering time/frequency, until you see the first indicators of stress, i.e.
