Division Manager – Commercial Landscape Maintenance

The Division Manager for Landscape Maintenance is responsible for the financial success of the Commercial Maintenance business unit and will participate in the development and management of annual operational budgets, strategic sales plans, customer Relationship Management and Labor Management and Efficiency. This is an executive level position with unlimited growth potential. The Division Manager must be an effective leader and motivator as well as possess good character and integrity. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for demonstrating and living out the company fundamentals and culture
  • Models and enforces all company policies and procedures
  • Monitors, mentors, and leads team in order to balance company goals with employee satisfaction
  • Oversee and monitor daily production of landscape maintenance and enhancements, turf and ornamental applications, irrigation and snow removal.
  • Develop delivery schedule deadlines and oversee the development of production planning and schedule creation.
  • Establish staffing levels for each month based upon need.
  • Ensure that jobs are completed according to contract and within budget.
  • Direct Account Managers and oversee all customer accounts.
  • Manage key relationships with clients in support of Account Managers.
  • Work with Business Development to identify and achieve new contract maintenance sales goals.
  • Works with Account Managers to ensure that Enhancement Pipelines and Sales Goals are being achieved
  • Work with AM team to achieve renewal and retention goals.
  • Work with Production Managers to monitor safety, quality, and productivity on an ongoing basis.
  • Budget control of hours and productivity of production personnel.
  • Budget control of division expenses.
  • Oversee safety, training, and DOT compliance.
  • Manage relationships with vendors.
  • Work with the Executive Team to establish and maintain the branch’s annual budget. Responsible for performance through Contribution Margin line.
  • Monitor monthly financial performance.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reports and production data to the Executive Team.
  • Administer preventive maintenance program and manage equipment repair and replacement. Work with Executive Team to evaluate equipment purchasing and set-up.
  • Communicate with Human Resources to address corrective and disciplinary actions, personnel staffing needs and training needs.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and compensation reviews coordinated with Human Resources.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Desire 5+ years’ experience in managing multimillion-dollar business units.
  • Commercial landscape maintenance experience: Most helpful.
  • Excellent communication and relational skills
  • A demonstrated ability to develop strong professional relationships in a business to business setting
  • Basic business and financial knowledge including budgeting, margin vocabulary and dynamics and planning
  • Planning ability including use of excel or other software to analyze data and do calculations
  • Creative problem solver with capacity to innovate
  • Team orientation
  • Prepared to lead by example, roll up the sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done
  • Basic Microsoft Office software skills and ability to learn other software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/finance
  • Bilingual
  • Branch Manager experience
  • Landscape industry certification
