Mechanic

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for properly servicing and maintaining all vehicles, equipment, and small tools.  This position will require a highly organized and self-motivated individual with strong time management skills. Will be responsible for keeping accurate shop inventory and a clean and organized shop.  This person must possess good character and integrity.

Responsibilities

Clean, service, and repair equipment and tools so they are tagged and ready for use with minimal downtime.

Keep accurate records of each asset and maintain accurate service schedules per manufactures recommendations.

Provide emergency field assistance to disabled equipment when needed.

Ensure that all shop parts, tools, supplies and outside repairs are acquired at the lowest cost possible.

Verify prices and accuracy of invoices and vendors before submittal to accounting.

Provide administrative staff with accurate repair notes, time data and equipment numbers on paperwork.

Implement and maintain shop organization and security at all times.

Troubleshoot equipment problems to determine the type of maintenance or repairs which are necessary and report these to Supervisor for approval prior to taking action.

Complete all tasks in a reasonable and efficient manner

Be able to prioritize and multi-task.

Report any suspicion of asset neglect or abuse.

Provide daily report of all repairs and maintenance actions, including parts and time to complete.

Adjust to changes in the plan and scheduling as necessary.

Teach and train crewmembers as needed on equipment and tool use and care.

Attend training classes and seminars as requested by managers.

Work day will generally be between 8amd and 5pm, but hours may vary

Safeguard all company assets.

Always represent the company’s best interest and maintain the highest level of integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years experience in repairs and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

Be able to lift and carry 50 pounds

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.

Able and willing to pass a pre-employment drug screening

Must be self-motivated.

Must be professional in appearance and actions.

Must be detail oriented and quality driven.

Must be well organized with strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task.

Operate skid loader/fork lift
