Human Resources Generalist

Lindgren Landscape in Fort Collins, Colorado has an immediate need for a detail-oriented individual with a background in human resource administration. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a small, team-oriented, and fun working environment.


The successful applicant will be directly responsible for the following:

  • Maintains personnel files and other employee records
  • Conducts benefits orientation and enrollment (insurance coverages, retirement plan, retirement plan, etc.), and reconciliation
  • Responds to unemployment compensation inquiries and attends hearings, as needed
  • Processes workers compensation claims, first reports of injury, and completes accident logs
  • Assists in the development of human resource procedures and policies
  • Answers employee questions regarding policy and procedures and benefits
  • Assists with onsite drug testing procedures, as required
  • Consults with the insurance broker for complex insurance benefits issues
  • Conducts employee on-boarding and off-boarding
  • Posts approved job announcements
  • Screens job applicants and refers top candidates to the hiring supervisor
  • Initiates background checks and performs reference checks for interviewees under
    consideration for employment
  • Enhances the employee experience by driving the company culture and becoming an advocate for employees
  • Performs additional duties, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge/Education: Related college degree or equivalent work experience as a Human Resources Generalist

Skills/Expertise required:

  • 1-3 years of Human Resource Generalist experience
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Ability to process, administer and track FMLA claims
  • Experience in administration of benefits and other HR programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Skills in record keeping
  • Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully
  • Preference will be given to applicants with the HRCI Certification

This is a full-time 40 hours per week position with benefits. Wage is $22-$25/hour, depending on experience.
